Integrating case

Operational and financial reconciliation

From a manual process taking days to automated reconciliation with early detection of discrepancies.

The problem

A financial institution processes thousands of daily transactions through multiple channels, processors and payment networks. Its reconciliation process relies on manual spreadsheets, partial cross-referencing and a team that spends days detecting discrepancies between what was transacted, what was settled and what was recorded in accounting. Differences appear late, closings are delayed and operational risk grows.

Diagnosis and strategy

Eldar assessed the current reconciliation flows, identified data sources, breakpoints and the implicit business rules that the operations team applied manually. The result was a clear map of the problem and a prioritized solution hypothesis.

Solution design and roadmap

An automated reconciliation architecture was designed with multi-source file ingestion, configurable rules engine, control panels for the operations team and early alerts. The roadmap prioritized an MVP on the highest-volume flow.

Prototyping and validation

A functional prototype was built on anonymized real data that allowed validation of matching rules, detection of uncontemplated exceptions and scope adjustment before scaling.

Construction and integration

A FinPod executed the development and integration with client systems: core, processor, accounting. Payment Studio agents and skills assisted in ingestion automation, reconciliation logic and exception analysis, while the team maintained full supervisory control over every output.

Scaling and evolution

The solution was extended to new channels and transaction types. New business rules were incorporated and performance was optimized for growing volumes.

Operational support

Eldar maintained an evolutionary support team with observability over the reconciliation engine, early detection of anomalies and continuous improvement of rules.
